Flame of Illean

Started playing a PDA Interactive GameBook:Legend of Mystaris Part 1: Flame of Illean
It's a game book where you have to read lotsa text and decide which path to take, whether to take items or leave it there. You also have to solve riddles. This is one part that is tough. I cannot find any walkthrough or hints online.
For some riddles, my character dies immediately if I answered the riddle wrongly, and there are no choices to choose from.
So, I am gonna try to post a simple walkthrough here.
You can choose to play as a BOY (brawn mode), a GIRL (brains mode), or IRONMAN (hard mode).

At the cathedral's fountain, put a cloth in it, and it will burn. After that, put your sword in the fountain to get a Flaming Sword. If you have a dagger, you can dip it in the fountain as well to get a Flaming Dagger. Next, at the curtain, DO NOT throw a rock at it. If you do, your flame on the sword burns out. Just walk through the curtain. You will have to confront a Priestess.
It is very helpful to put on the Black Medallion before fighting the priestess. It blocks out the mist effect. You have to kill the Priestess in the cathedral. You will get a Circlet, which allows you to put out fire. Wear it. This is needed at the Black Tower. Do not pick up the mace. It will electrocute you.
After that, if you play as a girl, there is this riddle is at the statue after killing the Priestess:
What has no roots that we can see,
Is taller than the tallest tree,
Changing hue with sun and snow,
Yet never higher does it grow.
Answer: mountain

Update: I'm lazy to continue playing the other modes. Ironman is too tough, and the map and enemies are the same.
Now I'm playing Legacy, a old-school D&D styled game.
