Harry Potter will not die
Posted by vampire at 02:54 PM on July 10, 2007.
This is my own opinion about Harry Potter's last book.
I have never read a single Harry Potter book, and my take on the last book's outcome is purely a deduction.
I believe Harry Potter will not die in the last book. Why?
Simple. Because he does not have a son, or an apprentice.
You see, all stories from books or movies mostly contains a father-son or master-apprentice plot. Before the father die, he must have a son, who will avenge his father. Or master dies, the student will defeat the killer in the end.
But well, this story is also like that, Harry's parents died. He's the kid.
He can't continue the legacy by not having a kid before he dies.

Malacca Food Tour 2003
Posted by vampire at 05:28 PM on July 31, 2007.
Yesterday was Kevin's birthday. At his birthday dinner, the few of us, mostly from Malacca MMU, had the topic of the Malacca food tour in our conversation. The tour had us eating at 9 different places in 16 hours.
This prompted me to search up my old blog entry about this Malacca food tour. Sadly, it is now gone, because it was in my old blog site. However, thanks to Bing, his site still hosts his entry on the same tour we had.
Here it is, copied, word for word (Bing, I hope you don't mind me copying from you. Your site has broken links). You can click all images for an enlarged view. Pardon poor images due to old 2003 Ixus camera.
As promised here are the pics for our outing around Melaka...
VampireM woke up a sleepy and blur2 bingbing at 9.30am. The first order of the day was of course breakfast and by 10.15am we (vampirem, vampirem's sister, panda, obikev and bingbing) were already on our way to the first destination...
Yum Yum Restaurant. A famous dimsum place in Melaka that serves typical dimsum dishes and various Hong Kong specialties such as the HK "chu chiong fan". Prices range from RM1.60-3.00 per plate. Too hungry and eager to eat, we forgot to take photo before devouring it haha...
We arrived at our 2nd destination after blazing through downtown jam at Bunga Raya Lane. Judging from the long queue waiting to order or "tapao" at 11.30am, this BBQ pork stall is really making business
Looks absolutely "to die for" isn't it? Note that the author bingbing can't live without meat hehehe...
Next, we sent panda and vampirem's sis back home before picking up tth and cla. Eager for a light snack before lunch we stopped by at a popular wantan shop located behind Southern Hospital.
Unlike regular wantan, this shop's specialty is prawn wantan. We tried both the soup and fried ones. Tho' a bit pricy, bingbing recommends the fried prawn wantan here.
Lunchtime at 2pm we went to a famous spot at Jalan Bachang, Hing Loong Taiwanese Noodle. As the name suggests, the shop serves both pork and beef Taiwanese noodle. Definitely worth a try. Good lunch spot.
After 3 meals, we decided to take a break and catch Tombraider at Mahkota Parade. We had an hour to spare before the showing so we went for tea at Delifrance. Caffeine was desperately needed if we were to last 'till the end of the tour's food list haha...
Our 4th stop for the day was during dinnertime. Nyonya food is a must for a food tour in Melaka. As recommended in "The Malacca Food Guide from Flavours Magazine 2003", we went to Bibik Neo Nyonya Restaurant located at Jalan Merdeka, Taman Melaka Raya.
Clockwise, the top dish is Tau-hu cooked with taochew (preserved bean paste), kangkung belacan, chicken asam buah keluak and pie tee.
The shop's specialty are the chicken asam buah keluak and pie tee. bingbing finds that the pie tee is kinda interesting where you stuff cucumber slices and mengkuang into a special cone. A great appetizer.
From Melaka Raya we went straight to Jonker Street for the famous Baba cendol. Covered with plenty of gula melaka and condensed milk, bingbing feels that this is one of the best cendol in Melaka. Try the local kuihs sold there too...
It was already 10.30pm when we finished our stroll along Jonker Walk. As a pre-supper we decided to drive all the way to Klebang for the famous Roti John Special. After almost an hour's search along the stretch of Pantai Klebang we asked a local and found out that it was really a few more kilometres away at Tanjung Kling.
Roti John, baked long slice of bread with sardines and onions. A regular supper dish.
At 1.00am, everyone was almost half-asleep (except for vampirem, he's the driver). Decided to "end" the tour with a stop at "Wee-hour Cha Sio Peng" in town. Located just opposite Satay Celup Capitol, this shop normally opens at 1.00am and closes around 4.00am.
As one observes the droves of people that frequent the shop, bingbing wonders whether people sleep at all This shop is definitely recommended for a nice and filling supper.
All in all, the tour had 9 meals in just 16 hours...definitely a terrific outing!!!
