Macross Frontier/Anime Lyrics

Posted by vampire at 04:26 AM on September 30, 2008.

For all of you Macross SDF / Robotech fans out there, you might already know that Macross Frontier has been out for some time already.  It runs for 25 episodes, and the last episode was aired in Japan a few days ago.  So, after two-three days of fansubbing, it should be released in the internet soon.

It's a good anime, and is almost on par with the Macross SDF series.  In fact, it's quite similar.  The main character starts off as a rookie pilot like Rick Hunter.  There's an ace pilot as his good friend who wears glasses and also mans the blue valkryie like Max Mirnya.  The main character's supervisor also flies a Skull Fighter.

The difference here is in the main enemy (Vajra), the setting (the fleet now explores the galaxy to settle on habitible planets, and the love triangle (main character and two singers).

Good stuff:

  • There are quite a number of good listenable songs in the series (unlike Robotech Part 1).
  • The color of Sheryl Nome's hair is unique.
  • A spoof of a very well-known Macross SDF scene.
  • Cool and powerful enemy

Cute Stuff:

  • Klan Klan (a zentradi) who changes appearance when micronized to human size.
  • Ranka's handphone

Bad stuff:

  • Students as valkryie pilots and part-time stage performers at concerts?
  • A short guy (think Mahou Sensei Negima) as a fighter pilot?!
  • What is deculture?!!!  As confusing as protoculture!

Here come's the second part of the blog.  If you hadn't seen South Park's parody of anime songs, tune to the YouTube clip here.  Hilariously funny.

English translation of the lyrics taken from here:

I have a wonderful penis
And golden Testicle hair
Is that the sound of a monkey named bobo?
No! It's the ninjas!
Hey hey let's go fight!
The important thing is to protect my balls!
I am bad, so let's fighting...
Let's fighting love!
Let's fighting love!
This song is a little stupid
It doesn't make sense
Its English is fucked up
Is that OK? We do it all the time!
Hey hey let's go fight...

So, Macross Frontier's tracks reminded me of the anime parody, esp the 2nd Opening Theme.

The title is "Lion" by May'n & Megumi Nakajima.  I like this song.  The clip below isn't high res enough, maybe you could download a fansub version for it.

I've always been a fan of the Macross series since it was aired on national TV last time and when the novels were sold in books stores.. wah, late 1980s and early 90's wor..

The valkyrie fighter is the coolest but I can never figure out where the pilot sits after it transforms into Battroid mode since the cockpit is facing downwards towards it 'groin'... 0.o` any ideas?

So have to leech this series from u when we meet hahaa..

You have the recent episodes of South Park too?

...

~~~ LET'S FIGHTING LOVE ~!!! :D
haha, it's still confusing, especially about the protoculture part.
i think the Japanese version is less confusing, but this Macross F still confuses people on the deculture thingy.
